South Belfast Ulster Unionist MLA Michael McGimpsey has called on the public to help the Police solve the murder of a man who was found stabbed to death in Botanic Avenue this morning.
Mr McGimpsey said:
"The community in the Botanic area was shocked to learn this morning that a man’s body had been found in Botanic Avenue and that the victim had been stabbed.
“This is a busy, vibrant area of central/south Belfast which is normally thronged with local residents, students and commuters. It is regarded as a safe place and incidents of this type are extremely rare, so this morning’s events are a terrible tragedy.
“I would like to extend my condolences to the victim’s family and friends and to urge anyone who can help the Police to solve this crime to contact Detectives at Musgrave Street on the 101 number.”
