Ross Hussey, Ulster Unionist MLA for West Tyrone, has expressed his shock at a recent statement by the Western Trust that an incorrect vaccine was administered to post primary school pupils in the Omagh area.
Mr Hussey said:
“I am appalled that in this day and age such a mistake could be made. Clearly I am relieved that there have been no lasting ill effects to the pupils concerned but I am sure both they and their parents would have been concerned that there may have been something seriously wrong in view of the reactions some children suffered.
“The swift manner in which the Trust admitted their error and advice was sought from the Public Health Agency is welcomed, but as this matter is now in the public domain we must be updated on the PHA findings and the Trust`s own investigation.”
