Andy Allen, the Ulster Unionist Party's North Belfast Spokesperson, has welcomed today's clarity from the House of Lords regarding a £25 million healthcare fund for aged veterans.
Mr Allen said:
"I welcome today's clarity from the House of Lords following a question asked by my Party Chairman Lord Empey, that the £25 million healthcare fund for aged veterans announced as part of the Chancellor’s 2015 budget, will extend to Northern Ireland.
"This is excellent news which will be well received by local veterans as a step in the right direction. The Ulster Unionist Party will continue to seek further clarity as to how this fund can be accessed by veterans in Northern Ireland."
