Ross Hussey, Ulster Unionist MLA for West Tyrone, had unreservedly condemned a petrol bomb attack on firefighters in the Dublin Road area of Strabane at the weekend.
Mr Hussey said:
"I unreservedly condemn this cowardly attack on firefighters in Strabane. They provide life saving services to everyone throughout Northern Ireland, irrespective of their background.
"Perhaps if those responsible actually thought about the fact that they or their own families might be in desperate need of help from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service some day, they wouldn't engage in cowardly attacks like this. We can only be thankful that there were no injuries to the fire crews present.
"I would appeal to anyone who has any information that might help identify those responsible, to pass it to the PSNI as soon as possible."
