Ulster Unionist Antrim and Newtownabbey Council Group Leader Alderman Mark Cosgrove has welcomed the announcement of an independent review regarding parades and protests in North Belfast.
Councillor Cosgrove said:
“I welcome the initiative being shown by the Orange Order in instigating an independent review of parading and protests on the Crumlin Road.
“The Ulster Unionist Party will be engaging in this review and we would encourage others to do likewise. The months may have moved on, but nothing has changed in North Belfast. It is important that as many individuals, organisations, community groups and political parties participate in this process as possible.
“I hope that the government will play its role. It will be through dialogue and engagement that we will get a just and fair solution.”
