The Ulster Unionist Party’s North Belfast spokesperson, Andy Allen, has condemned those behind a bomb attack on police in the New Lodge area on Tuesday night.
Mr Allen said:
“This was a disgusting attack on Police Officers who go out each day to serve and protect the entire community and it must be condemned unequivocally.
“Those who carried out this callous attack did so with total disregard for the safety of the community. It is very fortunate no one was killed or seriously injured.
“There is no place in a democratic society for those behind this senseless attack and the people of North Belfast certainly do not want this.
“I urge anyone with any information that could help police with their investigation to contact them on their non-emergency number 101, or anonymously by contacting crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
