Redpath outraged by bomb alert at Lisburn school

Responding to news that 600 children have had to been moved out of a Lisburn primary school after a bomb scare, Cllr Alex Redpath, the Ulster Unionist Party candidate for Lagan Valley said:

“I am appalled and disgusted by news that Pond Park Primary School has been evacuated this morning.

“I have spoken to parents this morning and they are concerned and very angry that their children have been subject to such disruption.

“If this is confirmed as being a deliberately left device, or even if it turns out to be a hoax, I would urge the entire community to work with the police to identify the culprit or culprits.

“What is absolutely clear is that anyone who would deliberately target a primary school needs to be taken off the streets and put behind bars as soon as possible.  This incident has echoes of our troubled past, which we are trying to leave behind.”
