Hussey congratulates Bready as International Cricket returns to the North West

Ulster Unionist MLA for West Tyrone, Ross Hussey, has welcomed news that international cricket is returning to the North West, following Bready Cricket Club being accredited as a suitable venue to host international T20 and one day cricket.

 Mr Hussey said:

“The North West has a fantastic heritage as a hot-bed of cricket, and Bready Cricket Club has been at the forefront of this sporting heritage, with the Magheramason club producing the likes of recent Test cricketer Boyd Rankin.  News that Bready CC, which has been massively upgraded in recent years, has been accredited by the International Cricket Council as an international one day and T20 venue is a tremendous fillip for the game here.

“Congratulations must go to the committee and members of Bready Cricket Club for their foresight and ambition. Cricket fans can now look forward to the likes of Ireland, Scotland, the USA and Papua New Guinea showing their skills in the planned T20 World Cup Qualifying Tournament later in the summer.”
