Ulster Unionist Leader, Mike Nesbitt MLA, has called on Sinn Fein to produce costed proposals if they want to change the Stormont House Agreement.
Mike Nesbitt said:
“This is failure at the very heart of the devolved institutions in the Office of the First and deputy First Minister. Sinn Fein have flip-flopped over Welfare Reform for months with Martin McGuinness awaiting his latest order from his Southern Command. In the meantime, the vulnerable in our society will be left high and dry by a dysfunctional First Ministers` office.
“The DUP failed to react to the warnings they got about the impending financial crisis which were signalled to them in 2010 and again in June 2013. They were asleep at the wheel.
“Northern Ireland cannot afford to keep on lurching from one political crisis to another on a regular basis if we want this country and its people to prosper. If Sinn Fein want to change the Stormont House Agreement, then they should come forward with costed proposals as soon as possible.”
