Ulster Unionist MEP, Jim Nicholson, has congratulated the Orange Order on the opening of their new museum at Sloan’s House, Loughgall in County Armagh.
Speaking after attending the official opening of the new Museum of Orange Heritage, Mr Nicholson said;
“I was delighted to attend the opening of the new Sloan’s House museum today.
“It is fitting that one of the Orange Order’s two new interpretive centres should be situated here in Loughgall, at a location steeped in history for the Orange Institution.
“The Museum, which I’m glad to say has been supported by the EU’s PEACE programme, is an opportunity to learn about the foundations of the Orange Order, as well as a celebration of Orange culture and tradition.
“The tourism boost it will provide to Loughgall and the wider Armagh area is also to be welcomed.
“I want to congratulate the Orange Order on the opening of such a fantastic facility and for their continuing outreach efforts.”
