McCusker condemns attempted bomb attack on police in Lurgan

Lurgan Ulster Unionist Councillor and last Mayor of Craigavon, Colin McCusker, has described himself as feeling nothing but 'despair' over the attempt to murder Police Officers in Lurgan.

Commenting on the incident, Councillor McCusker said:

“I really do despair for this area of Lurgan. A small minority, indeed a tiny group seem intent on disrupting the lives of the vast majority of people, not just in Lurgan, but the whole of Northern Ireland. What purpose they are serving is anyone's guess, but one thing is certain - they do not have the support of the people of Lurgan, and have nothing to offer the young people of North Lurgan in particular.'

“Unfortunately the proximity of this area to the Belfast to Dublin railway line means the actions of these morons reaches much further than just the immediate population, and once again besmirches the good name of Lurgan and its people, who just want to create a better Northern Ireland for everyone.

“Everything must be done to help apprehend the individuals behind this crime and trust they will face the full rigour of the law.”
