Andy Allen, the Ulster Unionist Party's North Belfast Spokesperson, has condemned those responsible for the pipe bomb which caused a security alert on Rosapenna Street and created a great deal of disruption for local residents on Wednesday.
Mr Allen said:
"I unreservedly condemn those responsible for this pipe bomb and the security alert which it caused.
“Had this device exploded it could have caused serious injuries or even fatalities. Those who left the device did so with complete disregard for the safety of the community and these criminals simply must be stopped.
"The people of North Belfast want a future in which they can live peacefully without the fear of viable devices being left on their door steps and having to evacuate their homes as their daily lives are disrupted.
"I would urge anyone with any information to contact the PSNI on 101 or anonymously by contacting crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
