Dobson condemns Banbridge petrol bomb & brick attack

Upper Bann Ulster Unionist MLA Jo-Anne Dobson has condemned those responsible for last night’s petrol bomb and brick attack at a property at The Mews on Iveagh Drive Banbridge, describing them as 'callous.'

Mrs Dobson said:

“I utterly condemn those responsible for yet another incident in Banbridge which could so easily have ended in tragic circumstances.

“The people who carried out this attack showed a callous disregard for life. We could indeed have been faced with a very different scene in the town on Thursday morning and my thoughts are with the man who was injured during the incident.

“I am very familiar with this area and there are many young families as well as elderly residents living near to where the incident took place. Those responsible showed no regard whatsoever for the potential of injury or worse to children, young people or anyone else in this quiet area.

“I will be meeting with the PSNI to discuss this and other local issues and I urge anyone who may have information which would help the PSNI to identify those responsible to contact the police immediately.

“The people of Banbridge don't want this type of activity in their town and those responsible must be brought to justice.”
