Ulster Unionist MP, Danny Kinahan has said that Martin McGuinness is only fooling himself if he seriously believes that decisions made at Westminster don’t make a difference to the lives of people in Northern Ireland.
Danny Kinahan MP said:
“The deputy First Minister is only fooling himself if he seriously believes that decisions at Westminster do not make a difference to the lives of people in Northern Ireland. The statement from him this morning is laughable when you consider that the Executive he is a part of has been characterised by a lack of decision making.
“Listening to Martin McGuinness you would almost think he had forgotten that his Party, alongside the DUP, handed back the power to legislate for Welfare Reform to Westminster just weeks ago.
“Westminster is still making the big decisions about how much is allocated to our Block Grant and how best to protect our national security. It is a shame that not every constituency in Northern Ireland has a strong voice in the House of Commons chamber speaking up for them when it comes down to these decisions.”
