South Belfast Ulster Unionist MLA Michael McGimpsey has condemned last night’s murder of a man at a house in Walmer Street in the Ormeau Road area of Belfast.
Mr McGimpsey said:
“Once again people have woken up to the shocking news that a man has been murdered at his home by an armed gang.
“There is simply no excuse that can justify this brutal and callous killing. Northern Ireland was plagued with this type of incident for decades, and nobody, but nobody wants to return to those dreadful days.
“It goes without saying that whoever was responsible must be caught, brought before the courts and given sentences that fit this shocking crime.
“The entire community must give the Police every assistance as they conduct their investigation.”
