Be delighted with B-Secur: Nesbitt

Ulster Unionist Leader, Mike Nesbitt MLA, has congratulated local company B-Secur on two major accomplishments – entry to the London Stock Exchange’s prestigious ELITE group, and following the likes of Dropbox, Instagram and Nest as one of Gartner’s Cool Vendors of 2016. Gartner is one of the world’s leaders in researching and advising on up and coming trends in technology.

B-Secur is developing second generation biometric security systems, moving from fingerprints, voice and iris recognition, to embrace individual heartbeat patterns.

Mike Nesbitt MLA said:

“The use of electrocardiogram (ECG) biometric technology is a bold next step in protecting personal data, preventing fraud and keeping us all safe by ensuring the wrong people are denied entry to sensitive locations. In a world where sudden and extreme violence is increasingly commonplace, this technology offers invaluable peace of mind. As Gartner’s put it, this invention is cool because it uses something we all already possess, a unique heartbeat, to strengthen the security of everything from bank cards to airport employee access controls.

“I think this may be the first time any local company has been hailed globally as a ‘Cool Vendor’ by Gartner and it comes at a fantastic time for Northern Ireland, as we sell ourselves as a great place to invest and do business.

“B-Secur are also to be commended for being selected to join the London Stock Exchange Group’s ELITE programme for inspiring growth businesses. They are one of only 16 throughout the UK to be added in this cohort, a sure sign that they are already recognised as more than one to watch: B-Secur are one to back.

“I congratulate all involved, not least Chairman Colin Anderson, and CEO Alan Foreman, two local business people of the highest calibre.”
