Ross Hussey MLA, Ulster Unionist Policing spokesperson, has congratulated the PSNI on another successful operation against republican terrorists, following searches in the Creggan and Galliagh areas of Londonderry on Friday night and Saturday morning.
Mr Hussey said:
"I congratulate the PSNI on another successful operation against republican terrorists. Every time the police carry out searches like this and remove explosive devices from the hands of these thugs it is potentially another life saved.
"As for those responsible, what do they hope to achieve? They don't tell anyone what they want apart from sow death and destruction, whilst the vast majority of people in Northern Ireland are focused on a peaceful future.
“On a day when I joined hundreds of others in Dublin to remember the bravery and sacrifices of thousands of Irishmen at the Battle of the Somme one hundred years ago, the contrast could not have been more stark. The terrorists are running out of places to hide and they are to be condemned. I would appeal to anyone with information to pass it to the PSNI."
