Commenting on a statement from the Executive Office regarding the Preliminary Analysis on the impact of a UK referendum on its membership of the European Union paper, an Ulster Unionist spokesperson said:
“The lack of facts being put forward during the referendum was bemoaned by many. The Executive had a document in their possession that was rich in information and they chose not to share it.
“Surely the Northern Ireland Civil Service would have been the perfect body to produce a neutral document to inform both Ministers and the public of the potential implication of Brexit for Northern Ireland?
“Reading between the lines of this statement it would seem the problem stemmed from the DUP and Sinn Fein’s own political considerations and their inability to agree.”
