- DUP ministers were doing hokey cokey while RHI applications rocketed
- Foster was the DUP ‘gatekeeper’
- Foster failed to act
Ulster Unionist Leader, Mike Nesbitt MLA, said:
“The DUP`s hokey cokey ministerial fiasco in September 2015 not only coincided with the legislation arriving which would have allowed the department to control tariffs but it also came as new applications for the Renewable Heat Incentive spiked at 504 in a month which leaves a crippling financial legacy for Northern Ireland.
“While the other DUP ministers were practicing their in-out regime, who was the minister who stayed in as ‘gatekeeper’? None other than Mrs Foster, yet she failed to act. Maybe she was too busy keeping an eye on her other Executive colleagues whom she famously described as rogues and renegades.”
