· 250 Written Questions unanswered by Executive
· 79 Freedom of Information requests outstanding
Ulster Unionist Party Leader Mike Nesbitt said:
“The Executive has been characterised by incompetence and a lack of transparency. It is no clearer to see than in the huge number of Written Questions that have gone unanswered before the Assembly dissolved.
“A total of 250 questions from the Ulster Unionist Party remain outstanding and now have no chance of being answered. We know of 79 Freedom of Information requests submitted by or on behalf of our MLA team, but that does not include requests from other party activists. This all paints a pretty terrible picture of an Executive with a shocking record of information disclosure.
“What have they got to hide? Only a few months ago the Executive parties were telling us they couldn’t wait to share their good news stories with us. Or is the lack of urgency in answering our questions further evidence of the arrogance that exists at the core of the DUP/Sinn Fein Executive?
“The public deserve better. They deserve transparency at the heart of government. Thankfully they have the opportunity to vote for this on the 2nd March.”
