Speaking in light of the announcement on Tuesday that the Big Lottery Fund has committed a £1million investment to support the City ofCulturecelebrations inLondonderrynext year, Conservative and Unionist MEP Jim Nicolson said,
“I am delighted that the Big Lottery Fund have recognised the excellent work that the City ofCulture Boardare doing in highlighting Londonderry as a cultural and dynamic part ofNorthern Ireland. Having visited the City ofCultureoffices this year, and seeing the fantastic work that the culture board and the rest of its staff are doing, I wholeheartedly congratulate them on securing this extra support.
In light of last week’s bombings, it is great to see that the City can still attract this level of support, it trying to promote peace and reconciliation inNorthern Ireland.
