Heads held high, we will not be cowed by terrorists – Councillor Chris Smyth

Ulster Unionist Councillor Chris Smyth described a bomb alert in Omagh as “disgusting” but said he was immensely proud that a remembrance parade went ahead regardless.

Councillor Smyth said:

“With heavy hearts but heads held high, we paraded to where the service was held. While we did not get the opportunity to lay wreaths, we will not be cowed by terrorists.

“As we go forward we need to hear a very clear message from all sections of the community that attacking a service of remembrance can only be described as wrong.  There can be no justification for it.”
