Sinn Fein MP Barry McElduff unfit to be a public representative – Councillor David Taylor

Ulster Unionist Councillor David Taylor has strongly condemned Sinn Fein MP Barry McElduff for posing with a loaf of Kingsmill bread on his head on this the 42nd Anniversary weekend of the Kingsmills Massacre. Councillor Taylor also stated that he is unfit to be a public representative.

Councillor Taylor said:

“Barry McElduff really is beyond contempt and should be truly ashamed of himself for his actions.

“This weekend has marked the 42nd Anniversary of the Kingsmills Massacre and it was already a difficult enough time for the families associated with the Massacre without having to witness completely unacceptable, despicable behaviour from a Sinn Fein representative such as Barry McElduff.

“I pose this question to Mr McElduff and to Sinn Fein - where is the respect shown to the families of the victims of the Kingsmills Massacre with disgusting actions like this?

“This provides clear evidence of Sinn Féin’s real attitude towards the victims of Republican violence and towards Unionism in general.

“Both Mr McElduff and Sinn Fein should apologise for his actions and he should give consideration to his position immediately. He is unfit to be a public representative.”
