Chambers welcomes MJM Group’s success in winning multi-million pound Cruise ship refit contract for Belfast

The Ulster Unionist Party’s Economy spokesperson, Alan Chambers MLA, has welcomed news that a multi-million pound cruise liner refit is to be carried out at Harland & Wolff shipyard in Belfast by MJM Group.

Mr Chambers said:

“As a proud son of East Belfast, reared within the shadows of the Belfast Shipyard gantries, I am delighted that such an important and significant piece of work is coming to the city.

“I congratulate Harland and Wolff and the MJM Group for landing this wonderful piece of multi-million pound business that will have a major positive impact on the Northern Ireland economy, especially in light of recent bad news on the employment front.

“The global significance of this contract should not be overlooked and it will give local industry the opportunity to demonstrate just what it can deliver to an international business audience.

“The Ulster Unionist Party wishes this partnership every success with this fantastic contract.”
