The Ulster Unionist Party’s Finance spokesperson and Chief Whip, Steve Aiken OBE MLA, has met with London based representatives of the Quebec Government to discuss Bombardier.
Steve Aiken MLA said:
“Today at Stormont I welcomed the opportunity to talk to representatives of the Quebec Government, including their London based Agent-General.
“We discussed the recent Bombardier/Boeing trade dispute and took the opportunity to congratulate the Canadian and Quebec Governments for their strong support for Bombardier in that dispute.
“We also discussed how we could help the Quebec Government and Bombardier going forward, to help make the C Series the great success it will now become.
“As a Party, we are very conscious that Bombardier is essential not just to the economy of Northern Ireland in itself, but that without Bombardier, the ecosystem of high tech and aerospace companies in Northern Ireland, would be under severe challenge.”
