A delegation of Ulster Unionist Belfast City Councillors have met with representatives of the Muslim community at the Belfast Islamic Centre to discuss recent anti-Islamic activity in the City.
Alderman Chris McGimpsey said:
“We had a very useful meeting and discussed a wide range of issues affecting the Muslim community with particular reference to the disgusting hate leaflets which were distributed in the Ravenhill area recently.”
Councillor Peter Johnston said:
“It is of paramount importance that we support our minority communities when they are the targets of hate propaganda and intolerance, behaviour which is entirely unacceptable to the vast majority of our citizens.”
