Ulster Unionist MLA for Upper Bann, Doug Beattie MC, has condemned the attacks carried out on two family homes in Banbridge last night.
Doug Beattie said:
“I am disgusted to hear of two hate crimes carried out on Indian and Pakistani families within the Banbridge area last night. Windows were smashed, paint thrown at the homes and a car damaged.
“This is unacceptable and I along with my Ulster Unionist Party colleague Councillor Glenn Barr condemn these deplorable attacks and the thugs that perpetrated them. There is no room for this type of behaviour in our society - not now, not ever.
“Councillor Glenn Barr is assisting the families and will provide any help needed.
“I commend the PSNI on their professionalism in apprehending a 33-year-old male in relation to this hate-fuelled crime.”
