The Ulster Unionist Party Leader, Robin Swann MLA, has praised the bravery of the Police officers who reacted to this morning’s terror attack in London.
Robin Swann said:
“This morning’s terror attack at the Palace of Westminster was both a reminder of the very real threat posed by terrorism and the selfless bravery of those charged with protecting the public.
“Westminster – the Mother of Parliaments - is a symbol of democracy throughout the world. That is why it is such a target for those who have nothing but contempt for the democratic process and whose only aim is to impose their will on society.
“I trust that those who were injured make a full and speedy recovery and I would like to commend the bravery of the Police officers on duty who reacted so swiftly to apprehend the driver of the car that crashed into barriers in front of Westminster. Its takes a special kind of bravery to run towards danger and once again the Police demonstrated their commitment to protecting the public.”
