The Ulster Unionist Party Leader Robin Swann MLA, has passed on his congratulations to East Belfast MLA Andy Allen, who received an MBE in the New Year’s Honours list.
Robin Swann MLA said:
“I would like to extend my personal congratulations and also on behalf of the Ulster Unionist Party, to Andy, on the award of an MBE.
“In April of this year Andy won a national award for his work in helping other veterans and their families in Northern Ireland via Andy Allen Veterans Support (AAVS). I know how rightly proud and honoured Andy was to receive the Inspiration medal at the ‘Soldiering On Awards’.
“The award of an MBE is further recognition of the selfless work that Andy does on a daily basis for the betterment of others, and it will be the source of great pride amongst Andy’s friends and colleagues in the Ulster Unionist Party and far beyond. He truly is an inspiration to us all.”
