Danny Kennedy, the Ulster Unionist Party`s European election candidate, has urged everyone to vote Kennedy 1 on Thursday`s European election to deliver a sensible Brexit deal and secure Northern Ireland`s position within the United Kingdom.

Danny Kennedy said:

“Tomorrow`s European elections are absolutely crucial as they could set Northern Ireland`s direction of travel for years to come. I`m asking people to vote Danny Kennedy 1 to deliver a sensible Brexit deal and secure Northern Ireland`s place within the United Kingdom.

“There definitely shouldn't be any more Brexit referendums which would create further division and instability. That is the worst option of all. There is no guarantee anything would change and we would have wasted another year. The people delivered their verdict almost three years ago and that result should be respected. We should be concentrating on finding solutions and delivering a sensible Brexit deal that ends uncertainty and offers stability for jobs and business.

“A border up the Irish Sea would seriously damage the economic and constitutional integrity of the United Kingdom. That`s why I am totally opposed to the backstop. If two candidates who supported the backstop were to be elected it would only embolden calls for a border poll and that`s the last thing Northern Ireland needs at the minute.

“That`s why I am urging people to come out and vote Danny Kennedy 1 to deliver a sensible Brexit and secure Northern Ireland`s position within the United Kingdom. This is a time to demand an end to uncertainty and vote for stability. Don`t let someone else decide your future and the future of the United Kingdom by not voting.”
