Ulster Unionist Leader Steve Aiken OBE MLA said:
“The announcements by the Chancellor this evening are not only welcome, they bring a degree of reassurance to the people of our Nation, especially those whose jobs have been affected by CoVID19. Now is the time for the Northern Ireland Executive to pass on, in full, all the mitigations that are available across the rest of our country to our workers as well.
“Our National Government is securing our economy, so that when we emerge from this crisis, and emerge we will, we are facing not a ‘depression’ but a more manageable ‘recession’.
“Now is the time to support our Nation, our workers and our economy; the Unions, employers’ organisations, and the Government have all stretched to make this happen – we all need to do the same.”
