Ulster Unionist MLA Danny Kennedy has again vowed to continue to fight for justice for victims.
The Newry & Armagh representative said;
“Last night in a speech at Queens University in Belfast Enda Kenny once again publicly backed the campaign by the family of Pat Finucane for a full public inquiry.
I must agree with my Party colleague Tom Elliott that these comments are unwarranted and unhelpful especially as they single out one family out of the literally thousands who had loved ones murdered by terrorists during thirty years of violence.
Senior political figures need to be careful to keep their word when offering meetings to the families and/or political representatives.
Victims and their families are extremely important and it is imperative that senior politicians - such as the Prime Minister of the Republic of Ireland- do not send signals indicating that some victims may be more important than others.
I know that the families of those murdered in the Kingsmills massacre are particularly angry and frustrated at the perception that they are being treated as second class victims and I would urge Enda Kenny to make good on his long-standing promise to meet with me to discuss Kingsmills as soon as possible.”
