Ulster Unionists meet Shadow Secretary of State for Northern Ireland

Today a delegation from the Ulster Unionist Party met with the Shadow Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Vernon Coaker, to discuss a wide range of issues which are currently facing the Assembly.

Chief Whip Robin Swann commented:

‘I was pleased to meet Mr Coaker today with my Ulster Unionist colleagues Danny Kennedy, Sandra Overend and Michael Copeland. It provided the opportunity to discuss a number of issues including the Northern Ireland Bill which is due to be introduced in the Third Session of Parliament as well as welfare reform. DRD Minister Danny Kennedy was  also able to update the Shadow Secretary of State on European infrastructure issues which are currently on the agenda.’

‘It is important that matters which affect the everyday lives of people in Northern Ireland, such as roads and welfare reform, are raised at the highest levels in Westminster and my Party will continue to do so.’
