Ulster Unionists welcome Stormont Jubilee Party

Ulster Unionist MLA Jo-Anne Dobson has welcomed the news that the Stormont Estate is to host a party for 10,000 people to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, during Her Majesty’s visit to Northern Ireland later this month.

Mrs Dobson, who represents Upper Bann, said:

“The entire Nation joined in the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations last week and thoroughly enjoyed the festivities.

Her Majesty has reigned over us for sixty years and been a reassuringly constant fixture during a period of massive social, political and economic change.

I believe the Queen has personally set a wonderful example for the Nation and displayed dignity, courage, devotion to duty and selflessness.

The news that 10,000 people will be able to celebrate the Jubilee with a Party in the grounds of Stormont on the 27th June is a very fitting way for the people of Northern Ireland to participate in the National Celebrations to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.”
