Ulster Unionists praise Enniskillen welcome for Her Majesty the Queen

Ulster Unionist politicians have praised the welcome received by Her Majesty the Queen in Enniskillen today as part of her visit to Northern Ireland to celebrate her Diamond Jubilee.

Party Leader Mike Nesbitt and Regional Development MinisterDanny Kennedy accompanied Fermanagh & South Tyrone MLA Tom Elliott to the service in St Macartin’s Church of Ireland Catherdral.

Party Leader Mike Nesbit said:

“It was a wonderful occasion and the delight on the faces of so many people who had gathered to see Her Majesty was a joy to see.”

Danny Kennedy said:

“The Cathedral service was tremendous and produced very powerful emotions. The music was exceptional and I would pay particular tribute to both the Cathedral Choir and the Portora School Choir and the wonderful performanceof the Londonderry Air.”

Tom Elliott said:

“This has been a day that the people of Enniskillen and indeed the whole of Fermanagh will never forget. Her Majesty’s visit to Enniskillen has brought a great deal of joy to many people right across the communityand it was wonderful to see so many smiling faces lining the streets to greet their Sovereign, welcome her to Fermanagh and help her celebrate her Diamond Jubilee.”
