Swann hails new Causeway Visitors Centre

The Ulster Unionist Party’s Culture, Arts & Leisure spokesman Robin Swann MLA has hailed the new Giant’s Causeway Visitors Centre as a great asset to the local tourist industry.

Speaking at the formal opening of the Visitors Centre Mr Swann, who represents North Antrim, said:

“I have long regarded the Causeway Coast as the jewel in the Crown of Northern Ireland’s tourism industry and the Giant’s Causeway itself, drawing thousands of visitors annually, is the centre-piece.

This new Visitors’ Centre will be a tremendous asset both to the Causeway itself and to the tourist industry on the north coast. It will complement the many other fine attractions which are located within a short drive from the Causeway itself. These include the wold famous Bushmills Whiskey Distillery, many blue flag beaches and superb golf courses, including Royal Portrush which just a few days ago hosted the Irish Open which was a tremendous success.

Having seen the new Giants Causeway Visitors’ Centre at first hand I can thoroughly recommend it to anyone. The building itself is state of the art and even has a grass roof to help it blend into the local landscape.  I have no doubt it will be a tremendous success.”
